Equally at home on the film set as he is in the boardroom, Image Engine’s COO and partner, Peter Muyzers is leading the on-going push to garner and execute high-end feature film visual effects work at the studio.
Peter began his career as a 3D artist working in television commercials and identifications in 1995 in Belgium, with
experience also including large format Motion Ride and IMAX 2D and Stereoscopic films.
He has since worked at The Moving Picture Company, Soho, UK as Computer Graphics Supervisor where he played a key part in building the visual effects pipeline for the MPC film division. His credits from this time encompass a variety of high profile feature films including Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, the first three Harry Potter films and Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
Since joining Image Engine in 2006, Peter has been the key architect in the development of a robust film visual effects pipeline and assembling what is currently Vancouver's best visual effects R&D department. These developments form part of Peter’s vision to position the company as the top R&D-driven visual effects company for feature film in Canada, highly specializing in creature and character work.
However, all of this doesn’t stop him from pitching in to support the teams on all levels – leading by example from the floor, not his office!
As an avid mentor, Peter believes in nurturing growth from within the company to develop world-class supervisors and artists at Image Engine.
